About

In 1967, Conica Inc. opened for business at the Alliance Building (now Allied Bank Building) along Quintin Paredes Street, Binondo, Manila. Conica imported and distributed its namesake, Konica x-ray films from Japan, and also imported and distributed carbon rods from Korea and France to leading movie theaters of the time.

With the advent of malls and their in-mall movie theaters, and the demise of the once prominent names of stand-alone movie theaters, Conica shifted its attention into importing medical equipment and supplies.

The company transferred its office to 883 Tetuan Street, Sta. Cruz, Manila in 1978. By then, the company had suppliers from the USA, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, France, Germany and the UK.

With the burgeoning demand, Conica purchased and transferred to a larger office building in 1993, at 861 Tetuan Street.

In 1997, Conesco Corporation was founded as a ‘division’ of Conica to diversify into other industries and markets.

After a while, it was decided to rename Conesco Corporation to Conica Philippines, Inc. as both companies were technically just one and the same. Further, many of the loyal suppliers and clients were unfamiliar with the new name.

With the turn of the new millennium, Conica Phils., Inc. threaded into the safety industry, and is now specializing in Occupational Safety & Health products.

Coinciding with its 50th year in 2017, Conica is now in its new office at the TANSK Building on 522 Calbayog Street, Highway Hills, Mandaluyong City.
